My document is rejected when I try to drag it into the Tiler workspace.  What should I do?

Mindcad Tiler is specifically designed to print PDF files.  If your document isn't in PDF format, Tiler cannot accept it.  See "How can I print other file formats?" below.

How can I print other file formats?

Preview (an Apple-supplied standard app) can read many different formats, and then save them as PDF files.  Use "Save As..." from the "File" menu, and choose "Format: PDF". 

Alternatively, it is possible to create a PDF file from any application that can print using the standard "Print..." panel.  From the "Print..." panel, simply press the "PDF" button, and choose "Save as PDF..".

My printer is cutting off the edges of my poster.  What can I do?

Most printers are unable to print all the way to the edge of a page.  The area they are safely able to print within is called the "printable area."  If your printer is cutting off the edges of your poster it means that it is reporting an inaccurate printable area to Tiler.

To override your printer's instructions, click on "Settings" on the Tiler toolbar.  A settings panel will appear. Under the "Printable Area" heading you will see two choices.  Note that "From Printer", which is the default setting, is selected.  Instead, select "Force Safe Zone", which uses a conservative printable area preset that is compatible with most printers.  Your project should now print correctly.

My toolbar is missing.  What should I do?

To show the toolbar if it's hidden, right click (or control-click) on the Tiler window title bar to view its popup menu, and then click on "Hide Toolbar" to uncheck it.
